Beach cart business in Port Aransas prepares for holiday tourists

Employees said during Thanksgiving weekend, nearly all of the carts were rented by tourists who they believe have no plans of abandoning Port Aransas come vacation time.

PORT ARANSAS (KIII NEWS) - One Port Aransas company that is back up and running since Hurricane Harvey is now looking forward to Spring Break.

Mechanics at Bron's Beach Cart's off Avenue G were tuning up their carts while other employees keep them clean and ready for tourists who visit the area over Christmas.

Employees said during Thanksgiving weekend, nearly all of the carts were rented by tourists who they believe have no plans of abandoning Port Aransas come vacation time.

"They're around. They're liking the beach. They've been around. The winter will probably be slow as normal," said Wayne Urban of Bron's Beach Carts. "We're hoping Christmas and New Years will be busy again and we expect Spring Break should be back to normal for us."

The business has about 95 carts and most of them were submerged underwater. They have all been dried out and are ready for the tourist to take a ride!
