Beeville bans cell phone use while driving

The new law goes into effect Tuesday, December 20th.

BEEVILLE (KIII NEWS) - The city of Beeville is banning the use of cell phones and any other hand-held devices while driving. The city ordinance will become effective Decemeber 20th.

City council passed the hands free ordinance last Monday. Use of a cell phone in a school zone within the city is already illegal.

The new ordinance authorizes Beeville Police Department to write citations for any driver caught using any device in his or her hands while driving in city limits.
