CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Five rehabilitated black-bellied whistling ducks were released Friday morning back into their natural habitat by the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital.

The ducks were found in three separate areas near I-37. Two were found on July 7, two on July 14 and one on July 21. All were juveniles with no adults to care for them. One of the ducks developed an issue with one if its legs after arriving at the hospital, but the issue was resolved using hydrotherapy.

All five ducks were cared for until they grew to a point where they could survive in the wild.
