Boaters manage to swim to shore after vessel sinks near Port O'Connor

Three boaters were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard Saturday after their vessel capsized near Port O'Connor.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Three boaters were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard Saturday after their vessel capsized near Port O'Connor.

A 20-foot vessel capsized with four people onboard about 17 miles south of Matagorda Island. All four passengers were able to swim to shore safely and were all in good condition.

Coast Guard officials said everyone had a life jacket on, and that played a vital role in the boaters getting to shore safely.
