Car hits west-side grocery store

Corpus Christi fire responders were called out to a car hitting a building around 3:00 pm Friday afternoon.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - Corpus Christi fire responders were called out to a car hitting a building around 3:00 pm Friday afternoon. 

The incident happened at the Hacienda Meat Market on Port avenue. When police arrived, they noticed an unresponsive female in the passenger seat and a male on the ground.

According to police, the male driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Before he was taken, he told first responders he had been drinking.

While the two people were getting medical care, store employees say none of their employees were injured from the crash.

Police are still investigating the accident. Criminal charges could be pending.
