The trek began Monday in Kingsville where riders paid tribute to Ken Starrs, a former CCPD captain and most recently a member of the South Texas Drug Task Force. He was killed in a traffic accident last November.

The riders will eventually make their way up to Austin where they will hold a ceremony at the Texas Peace Officers Memorial. The officers will have riden more than 1,000 miles by the time their trek is over.
