CCPD: Young man arrested for burglary & driving stolen car

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - Corpus Christi police were able to detect a stolen car being driven on the city's west side.

Investigators say a license plate reading police vehicle detected a stolen car in a neighborhood near the intersection of 3100 block of Mac Arthur and Wainwright street, behind the H-E-B on Port.

The felony stop happened around 7:30 Thursday morning.

According to police, the driver identified as 19 year old Matthew Isaiah Longoria, was arrested and charged with burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

A young woman with Longoria at the time he was pulled over was detained and question by police, but she was later released.

Investigators say some property discovered inside the stolen vehicle was returned to the homeowner.
