Changes coming to Mayor's 4th of July Big Bang celebration

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Changes are coming to this year's Mayor's 4th of July Big Bang Celebration in honor of the event's 40th anniversary.

Officials say this year they are adding new fireworks shows at two locations. One, on the USS Lexington and the other on a barge in the Corpus Christi Bay.

Spectators can expect optimal firework viewing from North Beach and Cole Park. The display will last nearly 20-minutes and will be synchronized to music.

As the event gets closer, attendees are encouraged to visit www.BigBangCorpusChristi.com for updated information including the parade route, park and ride pick up and drop off locations, schedule of events, and site maps.
