CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Charity League Fashion Show goes beyond looks, the show itself is the culmination of all the hard work the League ladies do throughout the year.

In 2017 Youth Odyssey received a check for over $260,000 money that they said was crucial to their continued success.

Becky Meyer is proud to show off Youth Odyssey's new building.

"That's where the magic happens we transform teams. we transform lives up here," Meyer said.

A building which was all made possible thanks to the $260,000 raised by Charity League.

"People drive by they see our Ropes course. Call us I'm a biz, I''m a church can I bring my group to your facility," Meyer said, "They zip line rock climb walk across wires, and the purpose is to build team cohesion.".

Youth Odyssey uses a ropes course and adventure challenges to promote a positive development in at-risk kids ages 10-17.

"They go back to their schools, and they see a drastic change in behavior and attitude," Meyer said.

"We really like that they change the trajectory of children's lives not just put a band-aid," said President Lesleigh Landreth, Charity League.

Charity League chooses one nonprofit a year, and for decades they have delivered big bucks.

"They wait to see what we choose every year we choose one charity, and we put our efforts into that one thing, and we don't take it lightly," Landreth said. "We're just super excited Charity League chose us last year, and we can't wait to see what they do for the hope house this year."

This year Hope House will be the benefactor of all their hard work.
