City paying close to $9 million to clean up after Harvey

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - At Corpus Christi City Hall.

Officials are estimating the total cost of brush cleanup following hurricane Harvey to be nearly $9 million dollars.

Over $7 million of that includes paying for a debris management contractor and a company to monitor the process.

City officials say they plan to allocate $5 million from city funds to help cover clean up costs. A partial grant from FEMA will go to cover the rest of the money needed.
