City workers attacked by bees at St. Andrew's Park

Several City workers were attacked by bees Monday while working near a drainage ditch. It happened around 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Park near Holly and Staples.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Several City workers were attacked by bees Monday while working near a drainage ditch. It happened around 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Park near Holly and Staples.

Firefighters said four City workers were stung when they tried to mow the grass. The workers ran to Fire Station 14, which is just a few yards away, to get medical help.

Fire crews said the workers appeared to be okay and did not need to be hospitalized. However, one went home to call it a day.

Shortly after the incident, the firefighters at Station 14 were treated to a free lunch courtesy of Olive Garden.
