Del Mar College announces grant to help area veterans

Area veterans looking to return to college now have extra incentive to do so.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Area veterans looking to return to college now have extra incentive to do so.

Del Mar College announced Wednesday that they recently received a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education funding the Veterans Upward Bound program.

The program allows veterans to take refresher courses in math, science and english, and also helps them get financial aid and mentor advice about what profession to pursue.

Questions regarding criteria or eligibility should be directed to the VUB program office, which is located in Health Sciences Building 2, Room 206, on Del Mar College's West Campus at Old Brownsville and Airport roads.
