Police discover 47 bullet casings from early morning shooting

Apparently 47 shots were fired on Breckenridge.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Detectives with the Corpus Christi Police Department are investigating a shooting on the westside of town.

That shooting happened just after 3:30 at a home on Breckenridge near Baldwin and Leopard.

Up to 47 bullet casings were found on the scene. Officers say a woman and her children were sleeping inside at the time of shooting. 

She suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and her 16 year old son was shot twice in the leg. They were transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe this may have been a targeted attack. Call 361-886-2600 if you have any information that could help detectives.
