Drugs, stolen handguns found during traffic stop

Corpus Christi police discovered drugs and multiple handguns while making a traffic stop Monday in the 2000 block of 17th Street.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Corpus Christi police discovered drugs and multiple handguns while making a traffic stop Sunday in the 2000 block of 17th Street.

Police said they had received reports of drug activity in the neighborhood. They spotted a Chrysler 300 that failed to use a turn signal and initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, officers found methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana in the vehicle along with two handguns inside the car. Police arrested the driver, 29-year-old Laura Lynn Alejandro.

Officers said that one of the handguns was reported stolen from the Houston Police Department.
