FEMA extends hotel assistance program for Harvey victims

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Officials with FEMA say they are extending hotel stays for hurricane Harvey victims.

The extension covers survivors receiving transitional shelter assistance. Transitional shelter assistance offers money to pay room and taxes for applicants.

Hurricane Harvey survivors who recently applied for assistance will be notified automatically of their eligibility. To be considered for eligibility, disaster survivors must be registered with FEMA for disaster assistance, and meet other eligibility criteria.

Victims will continue to receive funding for their hotel stay until Tuesday, January 16th.
