GREGORY-PORTLAND (KIII-NEWS) - Administrative staff with the Gregory-Portland ISD notified parents that least five high school students were significantly overheated during a marching band practice.
3 News received an email which read, "these students are currently receiving medical attention, and parents have been notified of the situation. Our primary concern is for the well-being and care of these, and all, students."
The school said there were other band students that were practicing, however they were in an air conditioned cooled environment.
The email continued, " Administration will be reviewing the details of what occurred during today’s rehearsal, and will take appropriate action as necessary to ensure our students are as safe as possible during band practices and all other outdoor activities to prevent future, similar occurrences."
