Food Bank of Corpus Christi receives financial help

The Corpus Christi Food Bank is short on turkey's for the upcoming holiday season. But today, they received an unexpected surprise...the food bank received a $10,000 check to help them make sure that families in need will have a turkey for the holiday's.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - The Corpus Christi Food Bank is short on turkey's for the upcoming holiday season. But today, they received an unexpected surprise. The food bank received a $10,000 check to help them make sure that families in need will have a turkey for the holidays. 

Representatives with Braselton Homes and Plains Capital Bank came forward with the money. That check helped them buy over 700 turkeys, getting them closer to their hopeful total of 800.

Bea Hanson, the executive director at the Corpus Christi Food Bank, says,"it was a total surprise. They heard about our need and that means that we -are just closer to the need. we're still short some turkey's but they brought us very very close to our total need for this season."
