Governor Greg Abbott back in Rockport to discuss Harvey relief funding

ROCKPORT (KIII NEWS) - Governor Greg Abbott is Rockport bound Tuesday morning as he heads to the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce luncheon to discuss disaster relief funding.

According to a release sent by the Governor's office, the state leader will be announcing new funding for mitigation projects in Harvey affected areas. Part of that funding comes after President Donald Trump signed a bill by congress for $90 billion dollars in funding for natural disasters.

Abbott will be arriving here in the Coastal Bend just before 11:00 a.m. The meeting at the Rockport Health & Fitness Center will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a mixer. Tickets for members are $20 and $30 for non-members. To register click here.

Governor Abbott will then head to Houston later this afternoon for a similar meeting.
