Harbor Bridge project brings new jobs to Coastal Bend

With the construction of the new Harbor Bridge comes new jobs. With that in mind, the Career Ready Workforce Program held a four-day class to help Coastal Bend residents learn new skills needed in that workplace.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - With the construction of the new Harbor Bridge comes new jobs. With that in mind, the Career Ready Workforce Program held a four-day class to help Coastal Bend residents learn new skills needed in that workplace.

Coordinators of the Harbor Bridge Project partnered with Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend to help fill those positions.

"I heard about the Harbor Bridge project and I really didn't know what 'soft skills' was, and I was kind of interested to find out," Chris King said. "And once I did find out, I realized that I needed them."

Hundreds of jobs will be created in the Coastal Bend as the project is set to begin soon. The Sunrise Career Center will host a job fair next Friday and the event is open to the public.

Members of the Career Ready class are eager to use the skills they have learned to secure the job.
