CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The City of Corpus Christi has temporarily shut down the Harte Public Library in Flour Bluff after bed bugs were discovered in several upholstered chairs.
The City is working with the Flour Bluff Indepenent School District and the City-County Public Health District to come up with a plan of action. Experts said finding the source of the parasites is almost impossible.
Pest control treatment is expected to begin soon.
Officials said the bed bugs do not transmit disease, but they can be a major nuisance. At this time there has been no word as to when the library will reopen.
