CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Changes to federal financial aid has made the service available on Oct. 1 instead of Jan. 1 -- an important change because students must apply early to have the best chance of obtaining aid.

Every Saturday in October, advisors from area schools will be at the Coastal Compass Education and Resource Center to help those students complete their FAFSA. Help will be available from 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. at 5488 SPID.

Advisors from Del Mar College, St. Leo University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University-Kingsville, will be there for the step-by-step process. Students will also be able to get help with admissions applications and other education services.
