ALICE (KIII NEWS) - It's being called a truly touching moment that happened under the Friday night lights in Alice, Texas.
It was Homecoming night in Coyote country and during halftime, the Homecoming King and Queen were crowned. The first name read was Alice linebacker Andrew Silva. He was named 2016 Alice High School Homecoming King; but it was Alice senior Louie Luna standing his place beside Homecoming Queen Maxine Perez.
Silva elected to share the crown with Luna, who was also a candidate for Homecoming King.
News of the touching gesture was a hit on social media in Alice community.
