CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Corpus Christi police have identified the man who was arrested Wednesday night after a standoff with officers at the corner of Prescott and Horne.

Police said 35-year-old Timothy Gonzales was involved in a disturbance with a woman at the residence just after 8 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, Gonzales had the woman's 15-month-old child and refused to let go. At the time, police were unable to confirm if Gonzales was armed or not.

Thankfully, the child was handed over to officers unharmed in a matter of hours. Once the child was safe, police entered the home and arrested Gonzales.

Gonzales now faces a charge of aggravated assault.
