A local marine makes it home just in time for Veterans day. 24-year-old sergeant David Herrera of the Marine Corps just got back from his third deployment. He just wrapped up his second tour in Afghanistan. His family and some of his friends waited for his arrival and surprised him with a homecoming party.
"It makes me feel good its been awhile since I've seen them. I'm glad everyone is here at the same time," said Sergeant David Herrera.
"Were extremely proud, extremely proud he does it for love of his country and his family and there's nothing greater than that," said Julie Salinas, David Herrera sister.
Herrera says the thing he's missed the most was Whataburger.
