CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - 24-year-old Andres Mushel has been found mentally unfit to stand trial in San Patricio County. He is accused of killing his father, Christopher Mushel, and setting their Portland home on fire.

District Judge Patrick Flanigan signed an order this week finding Mushel incompetent to face his accusers in a courtroom.

It was back in April when police said Mushel got into a violent argument with his father. Police said he killed his father and set the house on fire soon after.

District Attorney Mark Stolly said Mushel would go to a secure facility for no more than 120 days with the idea of regaining his competency, and if that does happen the trial could go forward.
