Man attempts to rob liquor store with steel pipe

The man who was arrested, 49-year-old Joe Flores, has not been charged with the attempted robbery at the Toddy Shoppe yet, but police are continuing to investigate.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - One man was caught on surveillance video Saturday night trying to rob the Toddy Shoppe liquor store in the 5100 block of Weber Road.

Police said the man demanded money from the cashier, but when he was declined, he took a steel pipe and bashed a computer and television monitor. The suspect was then seen fleeing in a beige colored sport utility vehicle.

A man with a striking resemblance to the suspect was arrested Sunday after a robbery at a convenience store in the 2700 block of Agnes. He also used a steel pipe to take $14 from a cash register there.
