Naval Air Stations Corpus Christi, Kingsville sent employees home early

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Officials at Naval Air Station's Corpus Christi and Kingsville have decided to send workers home early Tuesday due to the cold weather entering the Coastal Bend.

At Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi, all non-essential workers will be sent home at noon. They will then have a three-hour delay and will report in at 11 a.m. Wednesday. This will include the North Gate, but the South Gate will remain open for base access.

At Naval Air Station-Kingsville, all non-mission essential personnel were sent home at 11 a.m. Tuesday due to the weather. They also closed all base MWR facilities at 11 a.m. Parents with children in child care should pick them up immediately.

Decisions on returning to work Wednesday will be made later Tuesday night and transmitted through the AtHoc base personnel alert system and on Facebook.
