CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) -
The Food Bank of Corpus Christi has a few more dollars to help feed hungry people in the community thanks to local grocery shoppers.
The H-E-B Help End Hunger Campaign raised $39,000 for the local organization. The money was donated by shoppers that selected a tear-off coupon in the amount of either $1, $3 and $5. The tear-pad campaign ran from May 11 through June 28 of this year.
Across Texas, H-E-B customers donated $746,500, with all of the money going to about 20 Texas Feeding America food banks.
