New chief welcomed by Ingleside Police Department

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Ingleside Police Department has a new leader -- Chief Kenneth Jenks.

Jenks started in the field when he was just 19 years old. He got his start in Killeen and even helped build a police station in Anna, Texas.

On Friday, Jenks was officially sworn in as chief of the Ingleside Police Department during a ceremony in downtown Ingleside.

"What I look forward to is working with the criminal justice professionals, whether that be the prosecutor's office, the federal agencies, police officers in town, the county level," Jenks said. "They're -- it's a family."

Jenks said he is excited to bring new practices into the department.
