PREMONT (KIII NEWS) - The Premont Independent School District has named former Superintendent Ernest Singleton as the new Interim Superintendent for school.
Singleton is once again back in charge of the District after the drug arrest of Interim Superintendent Eric Ramos.
Last Thursday night, Ramos was stopped by a Duval County Sheriff's deputy who noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from Ramos' car. Ramos then threw a Baggie with a green substance in it according to the officer.
Ramos was then arrested and eventually released on a 250 dollar bond. Ramos had succeeded Singleton when he retired back in 2013.
