Nightclub assault victim dies, police searching for suspect

The victim of an aggravated assault that took place Sunday night at the Texas Nugget club has succumbed to his injuries, according to family members, and now the man suspected of assaulting him may be facing murder charges.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The victim of an aggravated assault that took place Sunday night at the Texas Nugget club has succumbed to his injuries, according to family members, and now the man suspected of assaulting him may be facing murder charges.
 
Family members confirmed Wednesday that the victim, 39-year-old Alex Calderon, died Tuesday night, though his body is being kept on life support until his organs can be harvested for donation.
 
Police said Calderon was involved in a physical altercation Sunday night outside of Texas Nugget and sustained serious bodily injury. The man he was in fight with, 34-year-old Victor Falfan, is now being sought by Corpus Christi police for aggravated assault, a charge that could be upgraded to murder in light of Calderon's death.
 
Falfan is described as approximately five-foot five inches tall and weighing between 170-180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please call Corpus Christi police at 361-886-2600.
