Nueces County D.A. apologizes for now corrected oversight

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Nueces County District Attorney Mark Gonzalez was, for more than a month, ineligible to practice law because he did not pay his membership dues to the State Bar of Texas.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported his oversight Tuesday morning, saying that up until they contacted him, he was not aware that he could not practice law because of the overdue payments.

Gonzalez quickly made his payments, and as of noon was again eligible to practice law in the state of Texas.

A short time later, the young district attorney posted a video on Facebook apologizing for his mistake and promising it would never happen again. He also mentioned the support he received via social media following the news of his unpaid membership dues.
