CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Padre Island National Seashore is experiencing an impact from the government shutdown. A statement posted to the park's Facebook page informed visitors that the National Park Service is unable to fully staff properties because of the lapse in federal funding. The statement further warned visitors to visit at their own risk.
The national seashore is expected to remain open, however the message encourages park visitors to use extreme caution as personnel will not be available to provide guidance, or emergency response.
