Parents, teachers to discuss concerns over flashing incidents

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - No parent wants to worry about their kids as they walk to school, but it is something many parents are concerned about after three flashing incidents that occurred over the past few weeks near local schools.

Now one group of parents wants to do something about it.

School is back in full swing at Dawson Elementary School, but a little over a week ago, just a five-minute walk from the school, a man exposed himself to a woman. Now parents at the school, along with school administrators, are taking action.

Parents and teachers are going to meet Monday in the Dawson Elementary School parking lot to address concerns about not just the flasher, but kids waling to and from school by themselves. The principal said she is looking forward to giving everyone the oppertunity to meet and address their concerns.

Most of the parents 3News spoke with said they were shocked by the incident, but believe Dawson's staff handled it very well by sending out texts and letters about the incident.

Kiii News Reporter Heather Gustafson followed this story and came back with the details.
