CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - A motorcycle accident has claimed the life of a young man.
The accident happened about 1 a.m. Saturday morning along SPID near Embassy Drive. According to police, the motorcyclist was going along SPID when he crashed into a vehicle that pulled out onto the road. A woman who happened to be a registered nurse was in the area and heard the accident. She stopped to try and help the man.
Linda Martinez said, "I did not see the impact, but I did hear it. As I came out of the parking lot, I turned the corner, saw him lying on the ground, so I pulled over to render aid."
Lt. Nicholas Kless with CCPD told 3 News, "the victim appears to be about 20-21 years old. Him and about 3 other guys were coming from Weber, going to IHOP, car pulled out."
Police say the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. Officers believe he was speeding at the time of the crash. The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
