Police involved in quiet standoff in parking lot of church

Corpus Christi police officers were involved in a short standoff with a man who was unable to speak. They called for a person who was able to communicate with the man through sign language.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - Police say it's one of the most bizarre standoffs they've ever been involved in...luckily everything ...ending peacefully.
The incident starting after 9:00 am Saturday morning at the Tabernacle of Praise church on Kostoryz road when some church members found a distraught looking man barricaded in his car...which prompted them to call police. and then one of the strangest and rarest standoffs unfolded. 
3 News reporter Briana Whitney reports more on how police practiced patience through this ordeal to make sure everyone ended up safe.
