Detectives say a man robbed a Comfort Inn and Suites before leaving in a taxi cab.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIIINEWS) - Corpus Christi police are searching for a man who robbed a local hotel early Tuesday morning.

That robbery happened just before 3 Tuesday at the Comfort Suites Hotel on South Padre Island Dr. and South Enterprise Parkway.

Police say a man walked into the lobby of the hotel and demanded the clerk give him money from the register. He then left the scene with a small amount of cash in a taxi and was dropped off in the Molina neighborhood.

Investigators say the cab driver was unaware that the man had just committed a robbery. They add that this robbery was not connected to recent incidents.

The suspect has been described as a 5'8" Hispanic male with a mustache and several tattoos.

Call police at 361-886-2600 if you have any information that could lead to an arrest.
