Portland police arrest man wanted for indecency with a child

PORTLAND (KIII NEWS) - An alert off-duty Portland police officer helped catch a man wanted for theft and indecency with a child by inappropriate contact.

The officer spotted 39-year-old Leo Bazan and recognized him as someone with warrants out for his arrest. He notified on-duty police officers and they arrested Bazan.

Investigators said a family member had gone to police over the indecency allegation, and that a neighbor of Bazan's had filed a theft report against him for stealing a lawnmower.
