Man suspected of fleeing scene of fatal accident appears in court

Michael Ramon, accused of fleeing the scene of a Sept. 10 accident on the Crosstown Expressway that left an 11-year-old girl dead, appeared in court Thursday morning to have a judge appoint him a defense attorney.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - Michael Ramon, accused of fleeing the scene of a Sept. 10 accident on the Crosstown Expressway that left an 11-year-old girl dead, appeared in court Thursday morning to have a judge appoint him a defense attorney.
 
Ramon, who was arrested in Houston Sept. 22, was given a "no bond" status and faces charges of accident involving death.
 
Corpus Christi police said Ramon and two others fled the scene of a fatal crash on the Crosstown Expressway. The accident led to the death of 11-year-old MyKayla Recio.
 

 
Ramon was apprehended by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force in Houston and reportedly had a gun in his possession and threatened violence to police officers.
