CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Mother nature delivered an early Christmas present to the Coastal Bend just after midnight on Friday. Residents saw as much as seven inches of snow.
The Coastal Bend turned into a winter wonderland within an hour, and there was a thick covering of snow on cars, lawns, and plants.
"Fine, it is fun I just like the snow but not because it's cold, well because it's cold I hate it I just like uh," said Keegan and Braden Thomas said.
Chief Meteorologist Bill Vessey was nearly frozen in place over at Kingsville covering Share your Christmas.
"My neighbors were making a commotion, and I went outside, and it was snowing so we were all out here at midnight until about 3 o'clock in the morning," Kingsville resident said.
It has been 13 years since the last snowfall, so if the pattern continues the Coastal Bend can look forward to snow in December of 2030.
