CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII-NEWS) - School officials say they are taking precautions in wake of threats made on social media.
A message was sent out Sunday night from the office of Dr. Arturo Almendarez, who is the Superintendent with the Calallen Independent School District.
In a message released to parents of students with Calallen ISD, "We are aware of comments posted on social media over the past few days regarding local school districts in and around Corpus Christi. We take all comments regarding school disruption and safety seriously and we have contacted the police to investigate."
The message continued, In response to these comments, we have taken extra precautions to ensure the well-being of our students and staff during this time. We appreciate your support , and as always, if you have any questions or information, please do not hesitate to contact your campus administrator."
