SE Georgia battered by Hurricane Matthew

Glynn County evacuees talk to First Coast News

BRUNSWICK, Ga.-  Thousands of residents of Glynn and Camden Counties are having to clean up damage left behind by Hurricane Matthew.

The storm brought strong storm surge to place like St. Simons Island, causing heavy flooding.

Sustained winds of more than 60 miles per hour with wind gusts close to 80 miles per hour brought down trees and power lines.

An Arby's restaurant in Brunswick had the side of the restaurant blown off.

Georgia Power has been working most of the day Saturday to restore power to thousands.
