Sentencing postponed for woman who admitted to sex trafficking

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - 55-year-old Maria Losoya was back in federal court Thursday to see Judge Nelva Gonzales for sentencing, but her hearing was postponed until January.

Authorities said back in August, Losoya admitted responsibility for the continued sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl. The abuse began back in 2012 in Brownsville and eventually continued in Rockport where Losoya traveled with the girl to solicit her for sexual intercourse.

Losoya has admitted to soliciting the girl for money. Her hearing has been postponed until January of 2018.
