Storm drain overflows into Bay

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - Update: The City of Corpus Christi tells 3 News this water, once believed to be sewage, is simply runoff water overflowing from a storm drain. The sudden amount of rain caused the drain to overflow into the bay. The city says there is no threat to the environment or the surrounding area.

Residents from an apartment complex off of Ocean Drive reported a sewage leak Saturday morning.

They say the leak was coming from the parking complex in front of their apartments and many people immediately moved their cars as the alleged sewage continued to flow.

The manager of the building told 3 News that there was some construction in the parking lot but it hadn't been worked on for some time.
