CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - A Corpus Christi family has identified their loved one's body as one of two that were found burned in a field near Robstown on Saturday.
Jesus Gomez was reported missing on Saturday but was discovered by police after they responded to a fire Saturday morning.
"What I found was the most gruesome crime scene murder," said Bryan Gomez, son of Jesus.
Gomez describes what he saw when he walked into his dad's trailer Saturday afternoon. Blood and other evidence that something horrifying had taken place.
"And I notified the police department," Gomez said.
What Gomez did not know at the time he reported his father missing was less than eight hours earlier police found the burned bodies of a man and woman at a palm tree farm on Soloman P Ortiz Boulevard in Robstown.
"He went inside my house. took a shower and got ready for bed and told me I'm going to bed that was the last time I saw him," Gomez said.
Police were able to identify Gomez's dad through dental records on Tuesday.
"He loved cars, classic rock, he loved the music he would dance around and sing," Gomez said. "He was an amazing person. he was a knight of Columbus at the Corpus Christi Cathedral he prayed for people," Gomez said.
Now his family asks for prayers and help to find the person who is responsible.
"I don't really know at all who could have done it," Gomez said. "All I can hope for is that they would see this and come forward and know what they did was wrong. Confess for what they did."
The body of the woman found by Gomez has not been identified. Corpus Christi and Robstown police along with the Texas Rangers are still investigating the case.
