ARANSAS PASS (KIII NEWS) - A video was posted on social media Friday by the Aransas Pass Police Chief showing how one of his officers had to endure a profanity-laced tongue lashing by a motorist upset about being pulled over for supposedly using a cell phone while driving.

Captain David Wood has been a police officer for nearly 25 years. He has made a lot of traffic stops in that time period, but this recent stop in Aransas Pass put the veteran officer's patience to the test.

Wood told the driver that the reason he stopped him was because the driver was using his cell phone. The city has an ordinance prohibiting drivers from using cell phones in an effort to cut down on distracted driving.

Kiii News Reporter Michael Gibson has been following this story and came back with the details.
