CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) - The Nueces River stretches some 315 miles across South Texas and at one time served as the southern border of Texas -- at least, as far as Mexico was concerned.

It also served as a lightning rod for controversy and even a war or two. Kiii News Reporter Michael Gibson looked into the river's history and came back with the details.
