Authorities search for immigrants after bailout in Bee County

Prison employees mounted horses Wednesday morning to help Bee County Sheriff's deputies search for 15 suspected illegal immigrants who bailed out of a vehicle after being chased down Highway 202 for a traffic violation.

BEE COUNTY (KIII NEWS) - Prison employees mounted horses Wednesday morning to help Bee County Sheriff's deputies search for 15 suspected illegal immigrants who bailed out of a vehicle after being chased down Highway 202 for a traffic violation.

Deputies said after initiating a traffic stop the vehicle fled, eventually crashing into the brush abotu a half-mile west of the Chase Field Prison Complex. Authorities said about 15 people ditched the vehicle and ran into the bush. All are believed to be illegal immigrants.

The nearby prison was asked to aid in the search. 3News will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
