BEE COUNTY (KIII NEWS) - The Bee County Sheriff's Office has been working its Border Star grant program this week and the effort has paid off.
Officers are hitting the county roads looking for illegal guns, cash, drugs and immigrants. The federal program pays for officers to work overtime and on Monday, deputies at two separate stops were able to come up with cash and drugs along with a haul of suspects.
Bee County received some $90,000 to spend on its Border Star patrols.
