Kingsville man arrested for aggravated assault, drug charges

Kingsville police arrested one man Wednesday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an incident that took place Sunday in the 500 block of East Kenedy Avenue.

KINGSVILLE (KIII NEWS) - Kingsville police arrested one man Wednesday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an incident that took place Sunday in the 500 block of East Kenedy Avenue.
 
According to police, they responded to an aggravated assault call Sept. 4 at that location and made contact with a victim upon arriving at the scene. The victim told police he was stabbed in the chest with a knife and then shot at with a handgun. Police discovered bulletholes in nearby fences confirming the victim's statement.
 
On Wednesday, Kingsville detectives obtained a warrant to search a residence in the 500 block of East Kenedy Avenue where it was believed evidence to the assault was concealed. They also obtained an arrest warrant for Jesse Longoria for aggravated assault.
 
Upon searching the location, the found a handgun and other evidence including narcotics in plain view. They seized marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, Xanax and synthetic marijuana.
 
Longoria was arrested and taken to the Kleberg County Jail where he was booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and multiple counts of possession of a controlled susbstance.
